Yesterday Eric surprised me by telling me to get ready, we were "going off". Well around here there isn't much to do so I was trying to guess...um...Wal-Mart, Lowe's, Stage, Wendy's???? We got in the car and drove 45 minutes to a small town called Natchitoches. It is a historic town where Steal Magnolias was filmed! Each year they have a Christmas Festival of Lights, one of the nation's oldest community-based holiday celebrations. The river bank is lined with holiday lights, vendors, and bands. There was a spectaular firework show too!
Marissa slept the whole way there and woke up to see the lights and part of the firework show. She sure was checking out the fireworks. It was a mild night and wasn't too chilly, but of course we sure did wrap her up good (which she hates!!) We started heading out before the fireworks were over to beat the crowd and Marissa fell fast asleep with the finale of fireworks still going on. I don't get that....she wakes up at the slightest creak of a door here at home!! We had a wonderful family outing thanks to my sweet husband! I love you Eric!

How FUN! We love going to the Festival of Lights here in Chas! Last year, Ryan asked me to marry him afterwards :) Love that movie Steel Magnolias too!!! Can't wait to see ya'll Wednesday!! Everyone is so excited!! :) Love ya, have a safe trip!
