W, X, Y and Z

We are doing the ABCs of Christmas to help keep our focus on the real meaning of Christmas alive in our home. Each day we do a new letter and some activity. I will be posting each day (or every few days) our letter of the day and the activity that we did.

A is for Angel

But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people." Luke 2:10 B is for Bethlehem

Jesus was born in a stable in Bethlehem C is for Cookies

God calls us to bless others, so we made cookies to share with our neighbors!

D is for Decorate
Today we set up a mini tree in Marissa's room and I let her DECORATE it! We sang Christmas songs as we decorated!

E is for Elf

An elf is a helper for Santa, just like we are helpers for Jesus!

F is for Flower

We made a paper poinsettia- flower of the Holy Night

G is for Gingerbread Girl

We decorated a paper gingerbread girl!

H is for Hot Chocolate
We drank hot chocolate and read a Christmas story. I love this special time!

I is for Icicles

Even though it isn't that cold here yet, we talked about Icicles and made them out of glue and salt!!J is for JESUS

We talked about Jesus and how we celebrate his birth on Christmas. We had fun spelling out Jesus with fun things! This one was a favorite of mine :)

K is for King
We talked about the 3 Kings who came and brought Jesus gifts. We made a crown, did a Wise Men finger play (see video below), and did a Wise Men puzzle.

L is for Lights

Jesus is the LIGHT of the World!!

We drove around the neighborhood and looked at lights while drinking hot chocolate! Then we did a finger print light craft!

M is for Movie Night

We had family movie night. We watched a Christmas movie on TV and ate popcorn!
N is for NativityWe made a Nativity mobile.
O is for Ornaments

We made some ornaments for her little tree.

(The paint chipped off her suncatcher ornaments from the Dollar Tree...ha!)
P is for Party

We had a "Happy Birthday Jesus" Party at Church!

Q is for Quiet
We talked about how quiet it must have been after baby Jesus was born.

She dressed up as Mary and we sang "Silent Night"!

R is for Rudolph

We made a handprint/footprint Rudloph!

S is for Star

She made a Star of Bethlehem!

T is for Tree

We made Tree Treats!



U is for Under the Tree

We watched a Christmas Movie while laying "under" the tree!

V is for Voices

We sang Christmas Carols as a family! Then Marissa made up her own :)







W is for Wreath

We made a peppermint wreath!

X is for X-Mas

We talked about how people will say X mas and how we don't want to cross out Christ in Christmas!

Y is for Yule Log

We watched the Yule Log burn on TV!

Z is for Zzzzzzzz....

Kids went to bed early and got their zzzzzzzzzs.
