Marriage Retreat

This weekend Eric and I went on a Strong Bonds Military Marriage Retreat in Asheville, NC. All hotel, food, and childcare expenses were paid for by the Army. We took Brady with us but Marissa went to Charleston with my parents.

We arrived on Friday afternoon for a meet and greet dinner then a session on the 8 Habits of a Sucessful Marriage. Saturday morning we enjoyed a delicious breakfast and another session. We created a mission statement for our marriage and won some games! After lunch Saturday we were free for family time at the Biltmore House (tickets were free)!! We spent about three hours exploring at the house and grounds. The Biltmore House is UNBELIEVEABLE! If you have time to go there, it is a must. There were so many rooms and floors it was crazy! I can only imagine what life in that house was like! The House was already decorated for Christmas, but photographs are not allowed inside :( Saturday night, childcare was provided for a four hour date night. Eric and I went to downtown Asheville for a nice dinner and dessert. We had a great time being alone and enjoying our food without a 3 year old running wild or a 6 month old crying! Sunday morning we had breakfast then one last session! Unfortuntately Brady woke up with a fever and was fussy the rest of the day (we ended up taking him to doctor Sunday night, just to be told to wait it out and give him motrin!).

It was nice to enjoy a getaway with the husband and sightsee in Asheville! Now back to dishes and laundry :) My first view of this massive house
